Core Criteria:
- Formal culinary qualification advantageous
- Proven experience in a similar chef role, preferably in a lodge or safari environment
- Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen with confidence
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work across all meal periods
- Comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment
- Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare all meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner to a consistently high standard
- Maintain consistency and quality in all food preparation and presentation
- Manage stock control, ordering, and the reduction of wastage
- Ensure all hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times
- Manage kitchen administration including requisitions and stock sheets
- Contribute to menu planning and the development of new dishes
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-run kitchen at all times
