Key Responsibilities (KPAs)

Project & Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage construction projects from initiation to completion
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Plan and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment
  • Conduct regular site visits and progress evaluations

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and develop technical teams
  • Ensure effective resource allocation for project execution
  • Drive productivity and operational efficiency

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Prepare and manage project budgets and cost control
  • Approve invoices, purchase orders, and payment schedules
  • Manage subcontractor agreements, rates, and contracts

Planning & Reporting

  • Coordinate weekly:
    • Meetings
    • Procurement
    • Revenue and cost tracking
  • Compile and submit reports to the Operations Director
  • Conduct weekly reviews on progress, budget, and forward planning

Compliance, Quality & Safety

  • Work closely with SHEQ to enforce safety standards and procedures
  • Ensure all quality assurance tests are conducted on time
  • Oversee compliance with project specifications and regulations

Stakeholder & Contract Management

  • Manage stakeholder communication and reporting
  • Chair internal and external project meetings
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Handle contract initiation and completion certifications

Design & Technical Oversight

  • Ensure timely delivery of temporary and permanent designs
  • Address technical and resource challenges effectively

Minimum Requirements

  • BTech / BSc in Civil Engineering
  • Registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as:
    • Professional Civil Engineer / Technologist / Technician
      OR
  • Registered with South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as:
    • Professional Construction Project Manager / Construction Manager
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil infrastructure projects:
    • Roads
    • Stormwater
    • Bulk pipelines
    • Water & sewer reticulation
    • Concrete works
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle (advantageous)
