Requirements:

  • Minimum 6–8 years' progressive finance management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' finance management experience within the mining industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
  • Willing to travel to Northern Cape and North West to operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full finance function within a mining or mineral processing environment.
  • IFRS and applicable South African accounting standards.
  • Mining-specific accounting, including:
    • Mining rights amortisation.
    • Rehabilitation provisions.
    • Ore inventory valuation.
    • Mine CAPEX capitalisation.
    • Stripping cost allocation.
    • Royalty accounting.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Cost control and operational profitability analysis.
  • Treasury and cash flow management.
  • Tax compliance, VAT and mining royalty legislation.
  • Internal and external audit management.
  • Development and implementation of financial controls and standard operating procedures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, SAP, Oracle or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams.
  • Ability to engage confidently with executive management, auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
  • Chrome, manganese, coal, or similar mining operations.
  • Mining trading or commodity trading environments.
  • MBA or Executive MBA qualification.
  • Financial modelling for mine acquisitions, expansions, and project feasibility studies.
  • Cross-border finance, foreign exchange management, and trade finance.
  • ESG financial reporting.
  • Multi-entity financial consolidation.
  • Working within multinational organisations and cross-cultural environments.
Responsibilities:
