A well-established engineering company is seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter & Turner to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, repair, and machining of mechanical and hydraulic components while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:- Qualified Fitter & Turner with a recognised Trade Test and Red Seal certification
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience working with hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, and related components
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience with conventional machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous
- Must be able to speak Afrikaans and English
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and mechanical equipment
- Conduct fault finding and repairs on hydraulic pumps, cylinders, motors, and valves
- Perform fitting, turning, machining, and fabrication work as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work is completed according to quality and safety standards
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
- Complete job cards and maintenance documentation accurately
