Background:

  • Our Client who is in the hospitality sector, is looking for a Group Financial Manager to develop and implement strategies to meet the Group objectives

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years previous experience in a similar position or as Group Financial Controller / Group Accountant in the property development / property management industry
  • Exposure within the hospitality industry would be an advantage
  • Relevant Accounting/Financial Qualification (BCom Degree) together with completed Articles with an auditing company will be advantageous
  • Proven business and commercial acumen with above average financial management ability
  • Good knowledge of accounting systems a requirement: QuickBooks, Pastel and DBit an advantage
  • Proficient on MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the entire accounting and administration process for the various business units in accordance with Group accounting policies and procedures
  • Monthly Group reporting and submissions to various professional and statutory bodies
  • FICA submissions where necessary
  • Maintain and control Group reporting standards
  • Compliance with all company and departmental policies, procedures and compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
  • Review where necessary the business units’ contracts and agreements
  • Manage the Group insurance portfolio renewal including liaising with the Insurance Brokers
  • Manage the Group budgetary process and review the budgets
  • Financial policies and procedures
  • Supervise and finalise financial year ends and audit financial statements
  • Liaise with and manage the external Auditors in compliance with the company’s requirements
  • Cashflow management of various business units
  • Liaise with external service providers
  • Prepare company tax computations and other tax management including SARS submissions
  • Provide accounting, processing, and resourcing to various business units
  • Work closely with head office and site-based staff members
  • Deal with ad hoc requests as and when required
  • Feasibilities and financial modelling
  • Attend Board meetings
  • Company Secretarial including review of meeting minutes
  • Manage commission payments
  • Supervise the Property Transfer Department
  • Monitor project expenditure/cash flow management of construction projects
