The following vacancies have arisen within First Mutual Reinsurance Holdings and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacancies. The roles will be based in Kigali, Rwanda within FMRE Botswana’s regional and representative office.

HEAD: FRANCOPHONE MARKETS

The Job
Reporting to the General Manager – East and Central Africa, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
Drive the growth of our Francophone Africa portfolio across targeted markets.
Build and manage strong relationships with insurers, brokers, and key stakeholders.
Source, structure, and manage reinsurance business (treaty and facultative)
Assist with sound underwriting discipline and portfolio profitability.
Provide insights on market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
Represent the company across the region as a trusted partner.

Qualifications and Experience
A first degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Law, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years’ experience in insurance or reinsurance, with exposure to Francophone markets.
Relevant experience in managing either reinsurance or global reinsurance programmes is a must have. requirement.
Strong background in business development and client engagement.
Solid technical understanding of underwriting.
Fluency in French and English is essential.
Good knowledge of regional markets and regulatory environments.
