ICT Manager (x1)

Location: Monze Campus

Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) O'levels.

A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university.

A relevant Master's degree will be an added advantage.

Valid ICTAZ Licence.

Window Server Certification.

Cisco Network Association (CCNA) Certification.

Professional ICT certifications.

At least 5 years' experience in a supervisory or ICT management role, preferably with experience in a university or higher education institution.

Job Purpose

To provide strategic and operational leadership for the University's information and communication technology services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, reliability and continuous improvement of ICT infrastructure, systems and services that support teaching, learning, research, administration and institutional operations. He/she shall maintain a high level of professionalism in executing his/her duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the University's ICT strategy, policies, standards and operational plan.
  • Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure, including servers, networks, Wi-Fi, data centres, telecommunications and end-user computing.
  • Oversee the administration and support of enterprise applications, student information systems, learning management systems, email and other institutional platforms.
  • Ensure effective ICT service delivery and timely resolution of user support issues.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate cybersecurity, data protection, backup and disaster-recovery measures.
  • Lead ICT projects, system implementations, upgrades and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Manage ICT budgets, procurement, contracts, licences and vendor relationships.
  • Establish and monitor ICT performance indicators and service-level agreements.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop ICT staff.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ICT, cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise University management on emerging technologies and opportunities for digital innovation.
  • Prepare ICT reports, budgets, policies and recommendations for senior management.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrable experience in network and systems administration, cybersecurity, ICT infrastructure and enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing ICT projects, budgets and third-party service providers.
  • Strong knowledge of ICT governance, information security, data protection and business continuity.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Sunplus Accounting Software.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
