The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining the hospital's IT infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability, security, and performance of all technology platforms supporting clinical and business operations. The role oversees servers, storage, networks, cloud services, cybersecurity infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery systems, data centers, and end-user computing environments. The IT Infrastructure Manager ensures that all infrastructure services operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with organizational policies and healthcare industry best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- IT Infrastructure Management Duties:
- Manage the hospital's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, network equipment, wireless infrastructure, and internet connectivity.
- Ensure maximum availability and reliability of all infrastructure services supporting hospital operations.
- Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades, replacements, and expansion projects.
- Monitor infrastructure capacity and recommend improvements to meet current and future business needs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure assets and configurations.
- Ensure proper lifecycle management of IT hardware and infrastructure assets.
- Network and Systems Administration Duties:
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of network infrastructure.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file servers, and virtualization environments.
- Ensure high availability of network services including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
- Implement network redundancy and performance optimization measures.
- Coordinate system upgrades, patch management, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Cybersecurity and Information Security Duties:
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls protecting hospital information systems.
- Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, intrusion prevention systems, email security, and access controls.
- Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and coordinate incident response activities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
- Ensure operating systems, servers, and network devices receive timely security updates.
- Support implementation of cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
- Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Duties:
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for all critical systems.
- Monitor daily backup operations and verify successful completion.
- Conduct periodic disaster recovery and business continuity testing.
- Ensure recovery objectives meet organizational requirements.
- Maintain disaster recovery documentation and procedures.
- Recommend improvements to business continuity capabilities.
- Infrastructure Monitoring and Performance Duties:
- Monitor server, network, storage, and infrastructure performance using appropriate monitoring tools.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization solutions.
- Analyze infrastructure utilization and recommend capacity upgrades.
- Ensure continuous availability of mission-critical hospital systems.
- Prepare regular infrastructure performance reports for management.
- IT Service Management Duties:
- Support the IT Help Desk in resolving complex infrastructure-related incidents.
- Establish and monitor infrastructure service levels.
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance with hospital departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure infrastructure changes follow approved change management procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, maintenance activities, and system changes.
- Leadership and Administration Duties
- Supervise Systems Administrators, Network Administrators, Infrastructure Engineers, and other assigned technical staff.
- Assign work, monitor performance, and provide technical coaching and mentoring.
- Participate in departmental planning, budgeting, and project implementation.
- Develop standard operating procedures for infrastructure management.
- Promote continuous improvement and adherence to IT standards.
- Compliance and Audit Duties
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and information security standards.
- Support internal and external IT audits.
- Maintain documentation required for compliance and accreditation activities.
- Ensure software licensing compliance.
- Implement audit recommendations related to infrastructure management.
- Other Duties as Required
- Participate in digital transformation initiatives and IT modernization projects.
- Support implementation of Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), ERP systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Participate in emergency response and business continuity activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Information Technology (IT Manager.
