We are seeking a qualified and dynamic Lecturer in Data Science to join our Academic Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for equipping students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to collect, manage, analyze, interpret, and utilize data to solve real-world problems and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Data Science and related disciplines.
• Expose learners to a holistic approach to gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing data for a variety of applications and business challenges.
• Teach modules in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, and Business Analytics.
• Impart skills in data mining, predictive analytics, and the management of massive structured and unstructured datasets.
• Guide students in designing experiments, identifying relevant data features, testing hypotheses, and reporting outcomes effectively.
• Foster innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through data-driven approaches.
• Supervise student projects, research activities, and practical assignments.
• Participate in curriculum development, student assessment, academic advising, and other departmental activities as required.

Requirements

• Honors Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• All qualifications must be recognized by the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA).
• Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide proof of BQA evaluation.
• A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at tertiary education level.
• Strong knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Statistical Analysis.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages relevant to Data Science.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods.
• Commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.
