About the Metallurgical Lab Sampler Role Reporting directly to the Shift Metallurgist, the Metallurgical Lab Sampler will play a crucial role in conducting metallurgical laboratory tests and assisting with process sample analyses.
This position demands precision, adherence to strict methodologies, and a results-driven mindset to ensure high-quality data supports operational decisions. Key Responsibilities for Metallurgical Lab Sampler Jobs in Kalumbila Collect and prepare process control samples, composite samples, and ad hoc samples following established protocols.
Perform routine metallurgical tests including flotation test work, dry screen analysis, and other process sample analyses. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as Lab Jaw Crusher, Rod & Ball Mill, Float Machines, Sieve Shaker, and Cyclosizer.
Ensure laboratory chemicals are adequately stocked and safely stored, including liquid nitrogen management and probe refills. Conduct daily cleaning of analyzers to maintain smooth sample flow and prevent blockages.
Collect hourly ISA assays and report findings to the Shift Metallurgist. Maintain detailed records of samples, test results, and calibration activities, including weekly calibration of plant Marcy scales.
Adhere strictly to safety procedures and conduct regular safety checks within the metallurgical laboratory. Candidate Requirements Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Certificate in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. At least one year of mining industry experience, with a solid understanding of sampling and sample handling techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
