About the Role:
Senior Construction Superintendent TSF Jobs in Kalumbila Reporting directly to the Construction Lead - LEP, you will oversee all aspects of the TSF and Water Storage Facility (WSF) construction processes. The Lumwana Expansion TSF project is set to become one of the largest tailings storage facilities worldwide, increasing capacity to 2 billion tonnes.
This role demands strong leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising daily construction site operations and coordinating between trades and subcontractors to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Leading and managing all construction activities related to TSF and WSF, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Reviewing and approving contractor schedules, methodologies, quality management systems, and project execution plans, while monitoring and enforcing corrective actions as necessary.
- Facilitating construction progress meetings, resolving technical and construction challenges, and maintaining clear communication with clients, engineers, operations teams, and contractors.
- Ensuring all work adheres to approved drawings, specifications, environmental and regulatory standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Monitoring productivity, costs, quality, and resource utilization to meet project objectives.
- Coordinating interfaces between TSF works, utilities, operations, and other project packages for seamless execution.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, progress tracking, and contractor performance reports.
- Providing leadership, mentoring, and development to supervisors and construction personnel to drive continuous improvement and operational readiness.
Candidate Requirements To be considered for this senior construction superintendent tsf job in Kalumbila, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Mining Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
- At least 10 years of experience in mining project execution, including a minimum of 5 years in the construction and delivery of TSF, WSF, large earthworks, or major mine infrastructure projects.
- Qualification in Tailings Management with proven knowledge of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM), dam safety principles, and tailings governance.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Manual Driver’s License.
