We are looking for a Motor electrician for hybrid
vehicles specialized in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing the complex
high-voltage electrical systems, battery packs, and electric motor-generators
that power hybrid cars, alongside traditional 12V automotive circuitry.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Voltage
Diagnostics: Utilize advanced digital scanners and multimeters to
troubleshoot and isolate faults in hybrid batteries, inverters, and
DC-to-DC converters.
- Component
Repair/Replacement: Safely dismantle, repair, or replace hybrid
electric motors, motor-generators, and wiring harnesses.
- Safety
Compliance: Strictly adhere to high-voltage safety protocols,
including the use of specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and
proper vehicle deactivation procedures before servicing.
- Battery
Management: Monitor, test, and recondition hybrid battery cells,
ensuring optimal state-of-charge (SOC) and thermal management.
- Conventional
Auto Electrician Duties: Maintain, diagnose, and repair standard
automotive electrical systems like lighting, anti-lock brakes, and
ignition.
- Customer
Service & Reporting: Communicate diagnostic findings and repair
costs with vehicle owners, and maintain accurate service records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification:
Formal trade certification in automotive electronics or a specialized
qualification like a Diploma in Engineering Technology (Electric and
Hybrid Vehicles).
- Safety
Training: Accredited High-Voltage (HV) safety certification or license
(e.g., IMI TechSafe standard or local equivalent).
- Technical
Skills: Advanced proficiency in reading electrical schematics,
interpreting live diagnostic data, and using oscilloscopes.
- Experience:
Proven hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repairing complex
electrical architectures.
