PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR / WAGES CLERK

A well-established company within the industrial and services sector is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator / Wages Clerk to join their team on a temporary contract basis. This position has the potential to become a long-term opportunity for the right candidate based on performance and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll and wage calculations accurately and timeously.

  • Support the wages department with daily payroll administration functions.

  • Manage leave updates, employee onboarding, terminations, and employee record maintenance.

  • Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies.

  • Generate payroll reports, month-end summaries, and management reports.

  • Perform payroll reconciliations and ensure alignment with budgets, tenders, and operational requirements.

  • Assist with LOA (Letters of Appointment) administration and payroll-related documentation.

  • Manage clocking systems and attendance records.

  • Act as a liaison between operational teams and the wages department to ensure accurate payroll information flow.

  • Prepare payroll documentation for audits and compliance inspections.

  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets and payroll records.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll administration and wage processing.

  • Experience managing high-volume payroll environments.

  • Strong payroll reconciliation and reporting experience.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience working with clocking and time-and-attendance systems.

  • Sound understanding of payroll legislation and statutory submissions.

  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Software Experience Required

  • Great Soft will be advantageous

  • QuickBooks

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Sage VIP experience will be advantageous
