Description
- Adkan Services Nigeria Limited is seeking a highly competent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team of construction professionals.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for cost planning, contract administration, procurement support, and financial management of construction projects from inception to completion.
- This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and proven experience in managing project costs while ensuring value for money and adherence to project budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities BOQ, and tender documentation.
- Conduct cost planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting for construction projects.
- Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and provide procurement recommendations.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Prepare interim valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
- Manage contract administration and ensure contractual compliance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Identify and mitigate cost risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare periodic cost reports and present project financial updates to management.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Support project negotiations and dispute resolution when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control techniques.
- Ability to prepare and interpret Bills of Quantities, tender documents, and valuation reports.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional membership or registration with relevant bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors NIQS or Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria QSRBN.
- Experience working on high valued projects.
- Knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of construction contracts.
- Experience with cost management software and ERP systems.
