Job Objective
- The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. The role works closely with the Finance Manager, business unit leaders, and other stakeholders to support financial planning, compliance, tax management, and operational decision-making.
- The successful candidate will oversee general ledger activities, accounts payable and receivable, bank and account reconciliations, fixed asset management, payroll accounting, and month-end and year-end closing processes. The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- The role will also be responsible for supporting external audits, monitoring internal controls, managing tax filings and remittances, ensuring regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will provide financial analysis and insights to support business performance and strategic initiatives.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in tax and statutory compliance, proficiency in accounting systems and financial reporting tools, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and technology-driven environment.
Finance & Accounting Management
- Manage daily accounting operations and financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations, customer/vendor reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor expenses, budgets, and operational costs.
- Maintain effective financial controls and accounting procedures.
Tax Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage preparation and submission of tax filings, including VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Review tax computations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and external tax consultants when required.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and advise management on potential impacts.
- Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions and tax obligations.
Account Management & Revenue Operations
- Manage customer accounts and maintain strong client relationships.
- Oversee invoicing, billing, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Track customer balances, payment schedules, and outstanding receivables.
- Support contract review from a financial and commercial perspective.
- Monitor revenue performance and customer profitability.
- Resolve client billing and payment-related issues.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial reports, cash flow reports, and performance analysis.
- Provide insights on revenue trends, costs, profitability, and financial risks.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial performance.
Audit & Risk Management
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure availability of financial records and supporting documents.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation actions.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualification & Experience
- BSC. Accounting or Finance
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, and account management.
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN ACA
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in a technology, SaaS, ICT, consulting, or enterprise solutions environment is an advantage.
- Experience managing customer billing, collections, revenue tracking, and financial reporting.
- Experience with tax compliance, statutory filings, and audit coordination.
