The Superintendent, Earthworks will oversee the construction, maintenance, and safety of critical mining infrastructure, including haul roads, ramps, and pit perimeter roads.
This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and safety at our Kalumbila site. Key Responsibilities for Superintendent Earthworks Jobs in Kalumbila Supervise construction and maintenance of all in-pit haul roads, ramps, and pit perimeter roads according to design specifications.
Manage loading and transportation of aggregate products to various operational areas. Lead projects such as safety berm construction, desilting, crusher tipping bay clean-ups and rehabilitation, water control, and construction of pads for overhead power line poles.
Implement dust suppression measures to maintain safe working conditions. Enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies rigorously.
Ensure timely maintenance of haul roads and waste dumps, promoting equipment safety and operational continuity. Proactively plan work schedules to minimize disruption to production activities.
Qualifications and Experience Required Minimum of 10 years’ experience in open pit mining operations, with a focus on earthworks. Grade 12 Full Certificate with at least five passes.
Degree in Civil or Mining Engineering. Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Certification of all qualifications by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). Road building qualification is an advantage.
