The Design Expert is responsible for creating, developing, and improving product designs in line with organizational objectives, market trends, customer requirements, and quality standards. The position involves preparing design concepts, technical drawings, specifications, prototypes, and supporting the development of innovative products while ensuring functionality, aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop creative and innovative product designs based on market demands and organizational requirements.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and production documents using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conduct design research and analyze industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor products.
- Develop prototypes, samples, and design models for evaluation and testing.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, marketing, and other departments to ensure successful product development.
- Review and improve existing product designs to enhance quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Participate in product testing, validation, and performance evaluation activities.
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, records, and technical reports.
- Provide technical support and guidance during production and implementation phases.
- Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders regarding design specifications and material requirements.
- Monitor design project timelines and ensure completion within established schedules.
- Recommend new materials, technologies, and design approaches to improve products and processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and development.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or similar design applications.
