Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- NQF qualification is non-negotiable.
- Trade Tested / Red Seal qualification advantageous, but not applicable
- Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics
- Experience working on heavy-duty diesel machinery and equipment
- Valid driver's licence preferred
Equipment Experience
Candidates must have experience working on:
- Large plant equipment
- Tipper trucks
- Bin/refuse trucks
- Diggers and loaders
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing
- Conduct inspections and fault-finding on heavy-duty equipment
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems
- Ensure equipment remains operational and downtime is minimised
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
