Salary: R32 000 – R35 000 (Basic)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Support Technician with strong technical capability and underground mining experience to support installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of specialised communication and electronic systems.

This role requires a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working on-site, including underground environments, and travelling locally and internationally.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • N6 in Electronic Engineering (minimum)
  • Valid Code 8 or 10 driver’s license
  • Proven mine site experience with underground exposure (non-negotiable)
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer literate (MS Office essential)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Must be punctual and reliable

Technical Requirements (Advantageous)

  • Experience with 2-way radio / RF communication systems
  • Fibre / optic fibre knowledge
  • MTCNA (MikroTik) certification or equivalent
  • CompTIA A+ and/or N+ certification
  • Multilingualism

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Product Support Manager and execute daily technical tasks
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of company products on-site
  • Support project rollouts, including monitoring installations through to completion
  • Conduct site audits and technical assessments
  • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting for clients
  • Support preparation of project quotations
  • Participate in pre- and post-installation meetings
  • Assist with training of clients and internal personnel
  • Travel to client sites locally and internationally, including mining environments
