The ideal candidate will blend strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, translating complex data insights into clear, actionable strategies that influence executive-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four Junior Data Scientists
- Drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions
- Build predictive, prescriptive, and forecasting models to support key business initiatives
- Apply statistical techniques such as regression, clustering, classification, and time-series analysis
- Translate complex technical outputs into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with business units to identify and unlock data-driven opportunities
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Technology teams to ensure scalable model deployment
- Establish and enforce best practices across data science and model governance
- Monitor model performance and continuously enhance analytical solutions
- Champion the adoption of AI and advanced analytics across the organisation
Requirements:
Education:- Honours degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or a related field
- Master’s degree advantageous
Experience:- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics
- Proven experience leading or mentoring Data Science teams
- Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based environments
- Strong track record of delivering impactful, business-driven analytics solutions
- Exposure to engaging with senior stakeholders and executive teams
Technical Skills:- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with MLOps and model deployment practices is beneficial
- Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
