Job description

National Museums Board (NMB) is a Statutory Board under the Ministry of Tourism whose mandate is to establish, develop and manage dynamic and sustainable national museums for the preservation and interpretation of Movable heritage for the benefit of the present and future generation.

3. MAINTENANCE OFFICER (1)

Type of Employment – Permanent and Pensionable
Location – Livingstone Museum, Livingstone

Job Purpose
To undertake maintenance works and facilitate outsourcing of all other maintenance and repair works of the Museum infrastructure in order to provide a conducive environment.

Main Duties

▫ Carries out effectively basic maintenance work to museum buildings and equipment in order to keep them in good condition
▫ Ensures the timely maintenance and repairs of furniture and all office equipment in order to restore them to their working condition
▫ Arranges for timely hire of specialized services in order to ensure that adequate maintenance services are provided.
▫ Compiles timely maintenance reports relating to his/her job for the attention and action of the Assistant Administrative Officer.

Qualifications/Requirements

▫ Grade 12 Full School Certificate or its equivalent
▫ Artisan Certificate
▫ One (1) Experience

Skills/Attributes:
Good communication skills (written and oral)
