Main Function
- The Mixologist is responsible for creating, preparing, and serving premium cocktails, mocktails, and specialty beverages that enhance the guest experience and uphold the superior luxury standards of the hotel.
- The role combines creativity, beverage expertise, and exceptional customer service to deliver memorable experiences while maintaining operational efficiency, quality, and profitability within the bar operations.
- The ideal candidate must possess extensive knowledge of mixology, premium spirits, cocktail trends, and luxury hospitality service standards.
Role Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation and Service:
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages according to established recipes and luxury service standards.
- Develop innovative signature cocktails and seasonal beverage menus.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all beverages served.
- Recommend beverages and food pairings based on guest preferences.
Guest Experience and Customer Engagement:
- Deliver exceptional guest service and create memorable bar experiences.
- Interact professionally with guests and provide expert beverage recommendations.
- Anticipate guest preferences and personalize beverage offerings where appropriate.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests professionally and efficiently.
Menu Development and Innovation:
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to develop and update beverage menus.
- Research emerging beverage trends and introduce innovative concepts.
- Create specialty drinks for events, promotions, and VIP guests.
- Ensure beverage offerings align with the hotel's luxury brand positioning.
Inventory and Stock Management:
- Monitor stock levels of spirits, wines, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Conduct inventory checks and report shortages promptly.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all beverages.
- Minimize wastage through effective portion control and inventory management.
Bar Operations Management:
- Ensure the bar area remains clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Maintain bar equipment and ensure proper functionality.
- Ensure compliance with opening and closing procedures.
- Support efficient workflow during peak service periods.
Financial and Cost Control:
- Monitor beverage costs and support profitability objectives.
- Ensure accurate pouring, portioning, and recording of beverage sales.
- Reduce product losses and prevent unnecessary wastage.
- Support revenue generation through upselling and premium beverage recommendations.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Follow all health and safety regulations relating to beverage service.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Ensure responsible beverage service practices are followed.
Teamwork and Training:
- Support training of bartenders and bar staff on cocktail preparation and service standards.
- Share knowledge of beverage trends, techniques, and product information.
- Work collaboratively with restaurant, kitchen, and front-of-house teams.
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the bar operation.

Experience / Qualification
- Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field is an advantage.
- Professional Mixology Certification is highly desirable.
- 5–7 years experience as a Mixologist or Senior Bartender in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, upscale lounge, or premium hospitality establishment.
- Strong knowledge of international cocktail preparation techniques and beverage trends.
- Experience with luxury hospitality service standards is highly preferred.
