Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of a fast-growing solar energy company serving underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa, is seeking Regional Service Engineers to oversee technical operations within assigned regions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor hub energy performance and charging availability across assigned locations
Identify and escalate hubs approaching overcapacity thresholds
Prevent downtime through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and intervention planning
Monitor battery swap trends, solar PV performance and charging throughput
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities on all energy systems
Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs requiring physical intervention
Diagnose and resolve faults across smart chargers, HC3 systems, battery packs, BESS and solar PV infrastructure
Coordinate and support Field Service Engineers within assigned regions
Provide technical coaching, mentorship and field guidance
Submit weekly and monthly reports on hub health and regional technical status
Support tracking and accountability of technical inventory, tools, spares and assets
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical discipline
2-4 years experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, renewable energy, or power systems
Hands-on experience with battery systems, solar PV systems, power electronics and charging infrastructure
Experience managing technical operations in field-based environments
Strong understanding of solar energy systems, battery technologies and power electronics
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
