Key Responsibilities
Equipment Support & Maintenance
- Perform scheduled services, breakdown repairs, and fault finding EDS equipment.
- Troubleshoot and rectify issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to address recurring failures and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support automation implementation and ensure alignment with site requirements.
Customer & Team Engagement - Build strong, lasting relationships with customers through professional service delivery.
- Coach mine employees and staff on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Promote aftermarket services and products to support business growth.
- Liaise with Product Company engineers to support product development and testing.
Operational Excellence - Participate in productivity and efficiency improvement projects.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
- Support spare parts inquiries, on-site stocking, and inventory management.
- Work collaboratively within the team to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
Reporting & Communication - Submit comprehensive daily site reports and weekly machine performance reports.
- Report safety issues promptly to the company and customer personnel.
- Communicate formally via email and respond timeously to customer inquiries.
Qualifications - Millwright trade qualification preferred (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics).
- Alternatively, proven technical experience in mining equipment maintenance and support.
- Grade 12 with N4/N5/N6 Technical Qualification or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience Requirements - Strong technical knowledge of Surface Rotary Blasthole Drills.
- Advanced RCS troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Trimble High Precision GPS systems.
- Proven expertise in automation implementation (advantageous).
- Proficient in troubleshooting across all drill systems.
- Computer literate with MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and to company standards.
- Willingness to travel, work standby, and adapt to operational demands.
