Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible web applications using [React / Angular] and modern TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Implement interfaces that meet government accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508 so services are usable by everyone.
- Translate designs and complex government/enterprise workflows into clean, intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and backend engineers, as well as agency and enterprise stakeholders.
- Write secure, well-tested, maintainable code with privacy and data protection in mind.
- Optimize applications for performance and reliability at enterprise scale.
- Contribute to a shared design system and component library used across products.
- Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Experience and Qualifications
- First Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical skills required for this role
- 4–5 years of experience building production web applications.
- Experience delivering software for government, public sector, or regulated enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks e.g., FedRAMP, SOC 2, GDPR or government IT standards.
- Experience building or contributing to design systems
- Testing experience Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress.
- Exposure to cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP and containerization.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Hands-on experience with a modern framework [React / Angular].
- Solid understanding of web accessibility standards WCAG, Section 508 and how to implement them.
- Experience consuming REST/GraphQL APIs and working with build tooling e.g., Vite, Webpack.
- Awareness of security best practices, especially around handling sensitive data.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
