National Museums Board (NMB) is a Statutory Board under the Ministry of Tourism whose mandate is to establish, develop and manage dynamic and sustainable national museums for the preservation and interpretation of Movable heritage for the benefit of the present and future generation.
9. DRIVER/MECHANIC
Type Of Employment – Permanent And Pensionable
Location – National Museums Board Secretariat, Lusaka
Job Purpose
To drive and provide technical support services in mechanics in order to provide an efficient transport system.
Duties
▫ Timely acquisition of vehicle/generator sets consumables, insurance and licensing in compliance with existing road traffic regulations.
▫ Timely repairs, maintenance services and cleaning in order to keep the vehicles/generator sets in good running condition.
▫ Drives authorized officers responsibly and timely within authorized times to facilitate accomplishment of duties and assignments.
▫ Security Ensures that institutional vehicles are parked in recognized secured and authorized areas in order to avoid thefts.
▫ Ensures accurate completion of log books in order to avoid unnecessary and unauthorized errands.
▫ Reports timely the occurrence of road traffic accidents to his/her supervisor for prompt action.
Minimum Academic Education:
▫ Grade 12 Full School Certificate or its equivalent
Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications:
▫ Certificate in mechanics
▫ Appropriate Driver’s license
Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
▫ 3 years of practice in Mechanics
Skills/Attributes:
▫ Driving skills;
▫ Communication skills (written and oral)
