Key Responsibilities
Technical Department Management
- Take full responsibility for the entire Technical Department.
- Manage and oversee:
- Project Managers
- Technicians
- Fabrication Manager
- Site installation teams
- Subcontractors
- Ensure all departments work efficiently and according to operational standards.
- Develop and implement technical procedures and best practices.
Technical & Project Management- Plan, coordinate, and supervise fencing, electrical, solar, and security installation projects from initiation to completion.
- Manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Develop project schedules, work plans, and resource allocations.
- Conduct site inspections, technical assessments, and site surveys.
- Design fencing solutions for farms, game farms, and wildlife/nature reserves.
- Resolve technical issues on-site efficiently.
Systems & InstallationsMust have strong knowledge and experience in:
- CCTV systems
- Access control systems
- Electric fencing systems
- Electric gates and gate automation
- Solar power systems
- Perimeter security systems
Must be experienced in:
- Designing and installing solar systems
- Managing electrical installations
- High-security and perimeter protection projects
Brand & Certification Requirements- Must have strong product knowledge and certifications for:
- Gallagher systems
- Centurion gate automation systems
- Victron Energy systems
- Must stay updated with industry technologies and compliance standards.
Electrical & Technical Design- Must have a strong electrical background.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical and technical drawings.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD and able to prepare technical drawings and designs.
- Must be able to conduct technical site surveys and produce system designs.
Fabrication & Workshop Oversight- Oversee and manage in-house fabrication operations.
- Work closely with the Fabrication Manager to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
- Coordinate fabrication schedules with project requirements.
- Monitor workshop productivity, machinery usage, and material control.
Team Leadership- Lead and supervise technical teams, project managers, technicians, installers, and workshop staff.
- Allocate teams and equipment to projects.
- Train staff on installation standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Monitor staff productivity and workmanship.
Quality Control- Ensure all installations meet company standards and client expectations.
- Conduct final inspections before project handover.
- Implement quality assurance procedures and corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, electrical regulations, and industry standards.
Health & Safety- Enforce occupational health and safety regulations on all sites and workshop areas.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents and implement preventative measures.
Procurement & Resource Management- Coordinate material requirements with procurement and stores departments.
- Monitor stock levels of fencing materials, electrical components, solar equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Ensure efficient utilization of company vehicles, equipment, and workshop resources.
Client & Contractor Liaison- Communicate with clients regarding project progress and technical matters.
- Attend site meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Handle technical queries and resolve client concerns professionally.
- Interpret client requirements and develop practical technical solutions.
Budget & Cost Control- Assist with project costing and quotations.
- Monitor project expenses against budgets.
- Minimize material wastage and operational inefficiencies.
Reporting & Administration- Prepare progress reports, site reports, and completion documentation.
- Maintain project records, drawings, and technical files.
- Report operational performance to senior management.
Minimum Requirements
Education- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or related field preferred.
- Relevant technical certifications advantageous.
Experience- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the security installation, electric fencing, electrical, solar, or construction industry.
- Proven management experience overseeing technical departments and multiple teams.
- Experience managing large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong background in perimeter security and electrical systems.
Technical Skills- Extensive knowledge of:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting and technical design.
