An Assistant Fleet Manager supports the overall direction and maintenance of a company's fleet of vehicles. Responsibilities include managing preventative maintenance schedules, tracking vehicle performance metrics, overseeing driver compliance with safety regulations, and minimizing operational downtime

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and track routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to reduce vehicle downtime.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicles meet local regulatory standards, monitor driver logs, and assist with accident investigations.

  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize fleet management software to track fuel consumption, mileage, and general operating costs.

  • Inventory Management: Oversee spare parts, tires, and essential supplies required for workshop repairs.

  • Driver Supervision: Assist in assigning vehicles and dispatch operations, while managing daily driver rosters and performance.

  • Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external service providers, fuel stations, and mechanics for outsourced repair work.
