Detail Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
Cost Tracking: Monitor job costing, overhead allocation, and the standard cost of raw materials and finished goods.
Variance Analysis: Identify and report discrepancies between standard manufacturing costs and actual expenses.
Inventory Control: Supervise periodic physical inventory audits, reconcile system records with warehouse counts, and track slow-moving or obsolete stock.
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
Month-End Close: Manage the financial close process, reviewing and approving journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Financial Statements: Prepare accurate management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Distribution & Logistics: Track shipping/freight costs and review intercompany billing for distribution networks.
3. Team Leadership & Internal Controls
Staff Supervision: Assign tasks, set KPIs, and conduct performance reviews for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and stock accountants.
Mentorship: Train the team on accounting software (e.g., SAP, ERPs) and internal control best practices.
Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting workflows and design efficiencies to minimize financial risks and improve productivity.
