About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive organizational growth through the identification and development of new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the organization's market presence, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the achievement of long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, donors, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation of business proposals, bids, presentations, and partnership agreements.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Manage the sales and business development pipeline from lead generation to contract closure.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative products, services, and solutions that meet market needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and partnership agreements to maximize organizational value.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, industry forums, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Monitor and report on business development performance, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, forecasting, and organizational growth initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Commerce, International Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in business development, sales, partnerships, marketing, or commercial management.
  • Proven track record of securing new business opportunities and achieving revenue growth targets.
  • Strong experience in proposal development, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Business, Marketing, or Sales will be an added advantage.
