Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Advisor – Education to provide strategic leadership and technical guidance for education programs in humanitarian and development settings, ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall technical leadership to ensure education programs are high-quality, inclusive, and aligned with Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies standards.
- Lead the design and development of education programs and proposals for donors such as UNICEF, USAID, and European Union.
- Build the capacity of staff and partners by providing training, mentorship, and technical support.
- Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to ensure programs are data-driven and continuously improved.
- Represent the organisation in coordination forums and engage with government, donors, and partners on education initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Education, International Development, or related field
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in education programming in humanitarian or development contexts
- Strong knowledge of education in emergencies and global standards
- Proven experience in program design, proposal writing, and donor engagement
- Experience working in complex and insecure environments
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work across cultures and in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)
Preferred
- Experience working with international NGOs or UN agencies
- Familiarity with education systems in Africa or similar contexts
- Experience integrating education with protection or child safeguarding
