About the Role
As Storeman, you will play a critical role in receiving, controlling, storing, and issuing stock while ensuring compliance with HACCP, health and safety, and sustainability standards. This position requires a hands-on individual who is organised, physically fit, and committed to maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Stock Control
- Receive, inspect and verify all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or quality concerns.
- Ensure invoices and supporting documentation are accurately processed and signed off.
- Store goods correctly and maintain organised storage areas.
HACCP, Compliance & Sustainability- Conduct and record temperature checks for dry stores, fridges and freezers.
- Follow HACCP procedures and corrective actions where required.
- Maintain FIFO stock rotation and monitor expiry dates.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure storage areas meet hygiene, safety and Green Key sustainability standards.
Inventory Management- Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock level management.
- Participate in monthly stock counts and full stock takes.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete or excess stock and report accordingly.
- Assist with stock optimisation initiatives.
Pest Control & Storage Standards- Conduct routine inspections for pest activity.
- Maintain accurate records and follow up on treatment actions.
- Ensure all storage areas remain clean, safe and compliant.
Team Collaboration- Work closely with Procurement, Kitchen, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure stock is issued efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with training and guiding team members on store procedures and best practices.
Minimum Requirements- Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospitality stores, warehouse, receiving or food service logistics environment.
- HACCP knowledge and exposure highly advantageous.
- Experience working with stock control systems and digital record keeping.
- Strong understanding of FIFO, stock rotation and inventory control principles.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move stock safely.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Honest, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy hotel environment.
