Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining production equipment in good working condition.
- Support maintenance activities on Sugar cube presses, Drying and handling systems, Packing lines (cubes, sticks, stand-up packs).
- Help reduce equipment downtime through timely intervention.
- Assist technicians during equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Support quick recovery of machines during breakdowns.
- Assist in carrying out preventive maintenance schedules.
- Help ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time.
- Clean and lubricate equipment as instructed.
- Prepare tools, materials, and spare parts for maintenance work.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and maintenance areas.
- Support installation and replacement of machine components.
- Assist in checking and organising spare parts inventory.
- Report low stock levels or missing components to supervisors.
- Help ensure availability of required maintenance materials.
- Work closely with production teams during maintenance interventions.
- Assist in minimising disruption to production activities.
- Support operational teams when technical assistance is required.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support compliance with health, safety, and food-grade standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures when instructed.
- Carry out any other maintenance-related duties assigned by supervisors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
Skills:
- Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge.
- Ability to use basic maintenance tools safely.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a production environment.
Qualifications:
- Holder of a School Certificate (SC) / Higher School Certificate (HSC).
- Holder of a "Brevet de Technicien" (BT) / "Brevet de Technicien Supérieur" (BTS) / NC Level 4 or alternative equivalent qualification.
- At least two (2) years' of relevant work experience.
- Experience in an industrial environment would be an advantage.
