Position Title:                   Peace Building Project Officer 

Number Required:            1 Position 

Reports to:                       Field Office Coordinator

Duty Station:                    Gambella Region  

Length of Contract:          Up to December 2026 with a possibility of extension 

based on fund availability and performance  

Basic Salary:                    ETB 80,000

Job Summary: 

The Peacebuilding Officer will provide crucial support to the Peacebuilding Senior Project Officer in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of peacebuilding activities in the Gambella region. The role involves significant engagement with local communities, peace communities, religious structures, and partners, requiring strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills. The Assistant will contribute to the effective delivery of the peacebuilding program's objectives and outcomes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take part in the planning and organization of peacebuilding activities, including workshops, dialogues, trainings, and community mobilization events in Itang woreda and Refugee camps.

  • Participate in the implementation of field-level activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.

  • Strengthen collaboration with other NCA and partner projects to demonstrate the HDP nexus approaches, and contribute to the peace-building integration to other sectors.

  • Contribute to the development of activity-specific implementation plans and tools.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local authorities, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders in the project implementation areas.

  • Assist in facilitating community consultations, focus group discussions, and peace dialogues.

  • Support the identification of local peacebuilding needs and priorities.

  • Work closely with community-based peace structures, women of faiths, peace committees etc.

  • Assist in the collection of data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

  • Contribute to the preparation of regular progress reports, activity reports, and other project-related documentation.

  • Identify and report any challenges or delays in project implementation.

  • Work closely with other NCA program staff and partners in the Gambella
