Position Title:                   Peace Building Program Assistant   

Number Required:    1 Position  

Reports to:                       Peacebuilding Program Manager   

Duty Station:                    Addis Ababa   

Length of Contract:         Up to December  2026 with a possibility of extension based on fund availability and performance   

Basic Salary:                             ETB 49,000 

Job Summary:  

The Peacebuilding Program Assistant will support the NCA Country Office Peacebuilding Programme by assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of peacebuilding initiatives. The position involves close collaboration with local communities, peace committees, religious institutions, and implementing partners, and requires strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and administrative skills. The Assistant will contribute to effective programme delivery by supporting community engagement, coordination of activities and logistics, data collection and documentation, and the achievement of the programme’s objectives and expected outcomes. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in planning and organizing peacebuilding activities, including trainings, workshops, consultative meetings, and capacity-building events, and coordinate related logistics such as venue arrangements, participant follow-up, and materials preparation.  

  • Provide logistical and administrative support during partner meetings and field visits.  

  • Support procurement processes in line with organizational policies, including preparing requests and following up on purchases.  

  • Maintain updated records of participant lists, attendance sheets, and activity documentation, and contribute to the preparation of progress and activity reports.  

  • Participate in project-related events, ensure proper documentation, prepare and share meeting minutes, and upload key programme documents and records in PIMS.  

  • Contribute to the development of activity-specific implementation plans and tools.  

  • Support the identification of local peacebuilding needs and priorities.  

  • Assist in the collection of monitoring and evaluation data.  

  • Identify and report any challenges or delays in project implementation.  

  • Work closely with other NCA peacebuilding programme staff and partners.
