Technical Skills – Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing modern passenger vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Ability to interpret diagnostic codes and troubleshoot complex faults efficiently. Vehicle Diagnostics – Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify and resolve complex technical issues in accordance with OEM standards and repair procedures. Troubleshooting – Investigate and analyse vehicle malfunctions to determine root causes and recommend effective corrective actions. Repair & Maintenance – Perform repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring the highest levels of safety, reliability, and workmanship. Electrical Systems – Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, control modules, circuits, sensors, and electronic components using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment. Mechanical Systems – Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and drivetrain components. Customer Service – Assist in addressing customer concerns by providing accurate technical feedback and supporting service advisors with diagnostic findings and repair recommendations. Documentation – Maintain accurate and detailed records of diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and parts utilised in accordance with dealership and OEM requirements. Training & Development – Remain current with evolving vehicle technologies, diagnostic methods, repair procedures, and manufacturer technical bulletins through ongoing training and development.
Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Senior Technician, or Master Technician within a franchised motor dealership environment.
Qualified Artisan with a recognised Trade Test Certificate.
Knowledge and practical diagnostic experience on one or more of the following automotive brands will be highly advantageous: BMW, Toyota, Foton, Audi, Suzuki, Volkswagen, or similar OEM franchised passenger and commercial vehicle brands.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair modern vehicle electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems across multiple manufacturers.
Exposure to OEM diagnostic platforms, technical information systems, and manufacturer repair procedures will be advantageous.
Proven experience in advanced vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and electronic systems repair.
Strong understanding of modern vehicle electrical systems, CAN Bus communication protocols, vehicle network architecture, and integrated control systems.
Proficiency in using OEM diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems.
Ability to analyse complex technical concerns and implement effective repair solutions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with workshop personnel and service department staff.
Commitment to quality workmanship and achieving a "fix-right-first-time" standard.
Valid driver's licence and clean driving record.
